About Us
If By Magic is a micro-printhouse and creative space specializing in Risoprinting*.
We print artworks, illustrations, comics, zines, poems, shopping lists, and declarations of affection—basically anything. We also run workshops, courses, and host events.
Founded by printmaker Robin Clifford Ellis and writer/graphic designer Patrick Savolainen, If By Magic aims to provide a crucial service to Finland’s artists and creatives, and introduce everyone to the joys—and yes, the magic—of printmaking.
*Risography is a stencil-based printmaking method using the Risograph printing machine. Colours are printed one at a time, with results that are eye-catching, vibrant, and unique.
Location
You’ll find us in Vuosaari, Helsinki, in a former high school building right next to the metro station.
The studio is easy to reach, and the building is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp at the entrance. Our studio is located on the ground floor.
