Christmas Card Workshop

Come and join us for a 4-hour drawing and printing session at If By Magic!

During this workshop, you will design and print Christmas-themed items such as cards, postcards, and gift tags. Each participant will have an A4 print area to work with and print using two Risograph colours (green and red). You can expect to produce an edition of approximately 20 A4 prints.

The process is fully analogue: you will draw, paint, collage, or otherwise create your artwork by hand, and then use the Risograph’s built-in scanner to print your work. Basic drawing materials will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own preferred tools.

No preparation is required, although having a few ideas in mind can be helpful. Refreshments will be provided.

The workshops are on 4th December from 17:00 to 21:00, and on the 7th December from 13:00 to 17:00.

Fee and enrolment

The workshop is for up to 6 participants. The fee is 70€. Children aged 7–13 can work with an adult for the single fee, but please inform us if you plan to come with a child so that we can ensure there is enough space. The fee is non-refundable, however, it can be gifted to someone else if you are unable to come.

Risography is a unique stencil-based printing process which combines the craft and expressiveness of traditional printmaking techniques such as screen printing with the speed and convenience of photocopying. As with other traditional printmaking processes, colours are printed one-at-a-time. Using real inks rather than toner, Riso prints have a unique look, with vivid, saturated colours and unique quirks which makes every print that little bit different from the next.
